Exploring a game and life-changing movement in Nairobi, that’s not just about getting from A to B, but about breathing new life into the city

Picture this: The usual cacophony of engines in Nairobi is replaced by a smooth, electric glide. How amazing would that be (for the ones or you knowing the city)?!

Earlier today I was on an electric Uber motorbike (thanks Uber and Roam), weaving through the city with ease. Even if the air around me hangs heavy with fumes (I wear my protective pollution mask), at scale, this can and will promote clean air. We’re cutting through a wave of change. This wasn’t a typical ride — it was quieter, greener, and when I look at the fare, it’s even kinder to my pocket.

Here’s the snapshot: on my phone, two options — the traditional boda (Kenyan slang for motorbike) vs. the electric boda. Choosing electric, I’m not just saving but also contributing to a cleaner Nairobi. It’s a small choice with a big impact! And I’ll do it consistently from now on since I’ve discovered this new option.

And this experience isn’t just about the thrill of trying something new; it’s a glimpse into a future where technology elevates our health and our environment, not at odds but in harmony.

Thanks for joining me on this electrifying journey today, as we embrace healthier, sustainable choices, powered by technology!
